Getting Started with Low-Budget Film Making

Are you thinking of starting a low-budget film, but a little lost on where to begin? It's easy, just get started! With a little guidance and perseverance you will be on your way! So, what do you need to know to get started?

- First, know you want to make a movie and follow through with it.

- Get an idea for your film. This idea comes from within-- listen to your muse and she/he will speak. Trust your gut.

- Write a screenplay! Get it on paper! Just write your screenplay all the way through and don't stop till you are done. There will be plenty of time later to edit-- for now, get it on paper.

- Create storyboards with shot lists.

- Find your actors and rehearse.

- Hire a crew. These don't have to be professionals... just people that are willing to work or help out.

- Plan a shooting schedule and a budget?

- Start shooting your film!

- Learn editing software

- Watch and enjoy!
